'MOMMY! WE NEED YOU!'

Today's animal rescue.

A snake.

Hand picked out of the rocks by 'the Mommy'.

Did I squeal?

...a little.

Did they identify it in the National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Reptiles and Amphibians.

Yes. (thank you Grammie!)

Did they read to find out what kind of snake it was.

Yes.

Did they read to find out what to feed this Common Garter Snake?

Yes.

Did they take the time to find a salamander, a grasshopper, and an earthworm to offer up to the little snake?

Yes.

Did the snake eat the earthworm?

Yes.

Were they absolutely amazed and went earthworm hunting?

Yes.

Do they want to keep little snake as a pet?

Yes.

Mommy's rule:

We can identify, observe and learn, but at the end of the day it is set free.

Little Snake was set free after dinner with a full tummy or earthworms.
