MERRY CHRISTMAS

Santa brought Reagan a Dora with a walking Pegasus, the doll was set aside the Pegasus has not left her side.
Edie got a ta-ta-tar (guitar) just like Daddy's. She's been rockin' out.

'Wait, wait, wait....Santa brought me CASH', Aubrey said seriously.
He brought her a register and some play money.
They got exactly what they asked for. It was a delightful morning, filled with smiles and laughter.

Reagan spent most of her morning, hiding behind the Christmas tree eating all the chocolate kisses out of her stocking.

Ice Storm

I hope those of you without power will get it soon. You are in my thoughts!
We made it 6 days with three little ones!! Go US!!! We had a generator, we had wood stoves, we had each other. We picnicked by the wood stove for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We bathed at family members houses. We had alot of laundry to catch up on. But we made it.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our adventure.

Thank goodness for cardboard boxes!

Day 1

Day 2 was colder.

You know it's bad when icicles form down and UP on power lines connected to the house!!

Day 3

Day 4, 5, and 6 were pretty much the same. It started to melt.
Then it...
Snowed for 36 hours.
We only got 18 inches.

We've had fun and I'm arts and crafted out!

I'm Baaaack.........

Edie Update

She danced, she sang, she ate well, she played well.
While being the entertainment on Thanksgiving Edie's inner ear was building up enough pressure to perforate her ear drum.
She had a horribly painful night, with hardly any sleep.
She woke with blood coming from her right ear.
She was so uncomfortable, and exhausted from not sleeping.
The day after Thanksgiving the pediatricians office was closed.
I took her to Urgent Care in Londonderry (I highly recommend it over the ER for non life threatening injuries!!)
Poor thing.
We checked in and they made her feel comfortable, which made her feel better and me feel better!
They diagnosed her, flushed her ear, and gave her some medicine to clear up the infection inside and out. Less than 2 hours later we were on our way to get her prescription filled and go home to rest. (Unlike our 8 hour ER adventure last month with Ray)
She is back to being happy Edie,
defiant Edie,
opinionated Edie...

Decorating The Tree

(Yes, it's fake we have too many allergies and I already have enough messes to clean up without picking pine needles out of the run for the next 8 months!)

We were sick most of October, no carved pumpkins, no scarecrows...

very sad for a Halloween lovin' girl like myself.

I promised myself to make the most of Christmas this year, because since the twins were born it usually goes something like this...

I shuffle downstairs at a nap time to dig through the sea of basement storage containers.

By the time December rolls around they have literally sunk to the bottom of 'the sea'.

I move an endless stream of outgrown toys, tools, odds and ends, making a path to the masking taped 'x-mas' totes.

The bungee corded Christmas tree box is always in the corner.

I drag the totes up the basement stairs. They thump on each step. Tiny bells jingle and something starts singing the 'Frosty the Snowman's' song.

The decorations are tossed about.

Giving the house a light dusting of seasonal cheer.

But that's not how it went this year...

It was delightful.

This year we made it a family night.

Todd wanted to help.

He cleaned the basement, yes...cleaned.

He found the totes and labeled the ones without.

We enjoyed going through 32 years of his ornament memories.
The girls enjoyed it too!

We listened to holiday music, and watched Rudolph.

This year we are ready!

Why Does A Giraffe Have A Phone?

The phone rang.
Geoffery the Giraffe was calling, he called the twins yesterday to wish them a happy birthday, and told them to come to the store for a special birthday surprise.
He has also sent them a gift card.
I thought it would be fun to go and let them pick out something special on their special day.
So we planned on going to the toy store and then to lunch at Ronald Mc Donald's.
We arrived at the store and went to the Customer Service desk. The woman proceeded to hand out crowns and blow up balloons for the birthday girls (Edie got one too).
Aubrey said, 'Pick me up, pick me up mama'.
I put her on my hip and she said, 'Excuse me, (to the lady blowing up the balloon)
'why does a giraffe have a phone?'
She said it with one hand up in air, one eyebrow raised, and a little shake of the head.
The lady looked a bit puzzled.
I said Geoffrey the Giraffe called us on the telephone to say happy birthday.
'Oh, ummm, he has a phone in his office and calls all the kids on their birthdays' the lady said.
Aubrey was satisfied with that and held on tightly to her balloon.
We walked around the whole toy store and the twins were delighted to buy NOTHING!!! We looked, we touched, we played with a friend I had run into and her little boy.
We were ready to leave the store and she found a gift bag with Geoffrey and some other zoo animals. She said 'mama, are these the other animals that work with Geoffrey in his office?'
'yes' I said with a smile.

The Twins Turn Four!!

Reagan & Aubrey
Hard to believe where we were and what we were doing four years ago today.
The girls helped make their cupcakes and color the frosting.
Her face says it all.
The teeth marks in the flaky white wax show it all.
The candle DID NOT TASTE GOOD.
Aubrey is telling her not to eat the candle.

The cake and ice cream taste MUCH better.

So CUTE!!

School Celebration

They came out MUCH better this time.

'We'll see you when the leaves are back on the trees'
