Curly Girls

BEFORE
On our lazy Sunday the girls had and 'idea'. They wanted to have curly hair for school on Monday. Since they were genetically programed to have bone straight hair, and they actually wanted me to play with their hair I seized the moment and came up with 'something'.
They each took turns leaning over the edge of the tub. I sprayed their hair. They sat patiently on their Diego step stool at my feet and I combed it out. I put some styling mousse in it and twirled their hair into these little 'buns'. They spent the day in them. They slept in them.
AFTER
Monday morning came and we un-twirled the 'buns' to find these curls. Aubrey wasn't so sure, Ray just kept flitting and flipping hers, she loved it.

Lazy Sunday

This was the first Sunday in a long month of busy activities that we decided to just chill out and stay home. This month has been filled with weddings, baby showers, pool parties, birthdays, BBQ's, air shows, and in the thick of it all school started! We all needed a home day to regroup. The girls let me do 'crazy hair', they played, we cleaned up the yard, had dinner outside. It was a great day to spend together.

Air Show

Liam, Aubrey, and Ben
Saturday was the Air Show. We started with a great BBQ at Uncle Moo and Uncle Davids house, then it was off to Pease. It was a sea of traffic and people and I was terrified that I was going to misplace a little girl. Thankfully after a few chats with each girl I reminded them that need to tell Mommy and Daddy when they leave our side, even if it's to stand with family. This was my girls second ride on a 'school bus' ! They were thrilled.
The Blue Angels were awesome!

Edie and I hiding the shade of a huge aircraft. We chuckled as people bonked their heads on the belly of the plane. Karma found me and I cracked my head on the way out, it still hurts!

Uncle Eric let Edie borrow his ear gear and it made the Blue Angels portion of the show a little more enjoyable to her. It was hot and sunny and by the time we walked back to the car she was in full melt down. However once we got to the truck and in the AC, eating some grapes, and a cold bottle of water she was back to herself.

The twins had fun playing with their cousins. At night when we went to bed and I asked them what their favorite part of the day was. They said spending the day with their cousins. It was a beautiful day and once I relaxed we all had a great time!

First Day Of School!!!

The most challenging part of the day for ALL of us was waiting for AFTERNOON Kindergarten and Pre-School. They go 12:30-3:00. The waiting for 12:00pm to get here was unbearable! I told them when both hands were on the 12 that meant it was 12o'clock (and I set their little paper telling time clock to what the big clock would look like). When we got to that time we would get our coats and shoes on and pack up. Raincoats.

Check.

Two Of A Kind

Dani and I are 13 months apart, and Edie and Sophia are 3 weeks apart.
Mom always said,
'When you have children, I hope you have a daughter just like you.'
I'm sure she meant it in the most loving way, and only in regards to all the good things we did as kids. Sure enough, moms was right, we each got one :)

Krys and Liz

On August 14, 2010 my nephew Krystopher married his high school sweat heart Elizabeth. We were not only honored to be invited but doubly so when Liz asked if the twins could be her flower girls. The day was perfect, the bride was beautiful and we are excited to have her as part of our family. Welcome Liz!
