I've been having are hard time with the roses this year. They need a lot of time and attention, and since Edie can not be left alone the roses will have to wait. I need to invest in some good rose food, and really prune them back this fall.

Garden Close-Up's

Blackberry's are starting to change to their yummy deep color. My Hens and chicks are on some sort of super plant food this year. They are amazing! I can't believe how tall the stalks are. I've been watching them develop the most amazing blooms over the last couple of days. Creepy Wood! But I love the picture it would make a great Halloween card for this fall.

My lilies are in full bloom. Granted, they are everywhere right now, and they are so hearty, they line the roads everywhere. Yet, close up, they are so delicate.

Girls Night

They were so excited

As a special treat we had chocolate ice cream. What A MESS.
They had fun, Edie was the first mini dancer out on the lawn, the twins followed the the three of them danced, giggled, and were a hit!

We stayed until 9:30pm.
Alot longer than I thought they would last.
The balloons landed and they were brought back to the field. At dusk they filled them up again and put on a beautiful show of delicate lights. The field was filled with glowing balloons that looked as fragile as paper lanterns.
My camera began to beep because of low batteries, but I managed to get a couple of good night glow shots. The girls sat on the lawn and just watched with amazement. (I was watching them with amazement! They were SITTING on the lawn and not running every which way. EDIE WAS SITTING STILL!!!
The twins spoke up and said they wanted to go home.
They didn't like walking back to the car in the dark, we are never out when it's that dark, they go to bed at 7pm, so it's still pretty light out even when they go to bed.
I put them in their jammies.
They asked, 'if we fall asleep in the car can you put us in our beds?'
'Of course', I reassured them, I promised I would get us home safely, tuck them in and give them a kiss once we got home.
They were asleep before we left the parking lot.
I brought each little one up to their bed.
One by one, they were tucked in and kissed twice:)

Eb-a-wee

Translated: Edie is yelling Emily, (the little girl across the street/dirt road.)
If Emily yells back (sight unseen just little voices through the trees) the girls know she is home and it's ok to go say hi (with mommy of course).
Sometimes Emily yells first, she yells, 'Twiiii-iiiins'.

Happy 4th of July

Friday's Grump. After a good night's sleep and a next day nap she was back to happy Edie!

Scented bubbles?

Fifth's

Rosy cheeks and a lacy rash from head to toe. Look it up on the Internet for more details. She is not contagious at this point. Reagan seems to get it all. I remember reading all the the viruses kids could get before I even had kids. I would think to myself, holy smokes there is alot to worry about. Reagan has made me realize, we'll deal with it while we have it no matter what it is. This too shall pass.

MINE!, Two 'pa-pees', Meme to me.

Translated: this means, these are Edie's pipes and it's the two Meme gave her as a gift, so it's ok.

We were down to our last pipe. Edie had lost one in the Walmart parking lot, it rolled away and I figured it was the perfect time for the daytime-pipe to go away for good.
It didn't go so well.
I tried explaining to her that another baby needed the pipe and since she was big girl she did not need a daytime pipe anymore....when it was time to go na-nee (to bed) she could have one in her crib ONLY. She kept crying and saying 'baby, MY papeee!!' We stopped by Meme and Grampy's on our way home.
Meme had a special gift for Edie, TWO NEW PIPES. She was thrilled. She held on to the package all the way home and held onto them like they were delicate flowers (by the way, Edie is not delicate about anything!)
So when Edie does get ahold of the TWO pipes from Meme this is what she does.

Cruisin'

Going for a ride in the new boat, the girls are expert horn blowers. Edie says BEEP, BEEP and when she is ready to get on she says 'all aboard!'
